INSTRUCTORS
Doug Getgood was born in Ontario, Canada.
In 1985 while enrolled in a survival course at the prestigious Tom Brown Tracking School, Doug was told that a debris hut could keep a person alive at any time of year. So that autumn he tested this statement and built a shelter then slept an entire Canadian winter within it. This has always been Doug's way - testing him and the skills that have been shown. Whether it is as a student or assistant with B.O.S.S., studying under John and Geri McPherson or as an instructor and co-director with Les Stroud and Wilderness Voice Doug has always has a passion for Survival and Bushcraft skills. For fifteen years and more he practiced and taught these skills; until the summer of 2001 when a small bush plane dropped him off within the forests of Northern Ontario. It is there that he lived a year alone within a hand hewn cabin. With saw and axe and no roads near, he kept the woodstove burning. Doug brings a unique perspective to everything he teaches and enjoys helping others learn the-ways-of-the-wilds!
Zack Curcija
Zack's interest in outdoor living began when living in rural Ontario as a child. Having moved frequently throughout his youth, he feels most at home in the wilderness. While living in Arizona for five years, he spent quality time roaming the desert and mountains in solitude and training under renowned survivalist Cody Lundin. Zack has studied ecological sustainability at Arizona State University and has spent a summer in the Yukon, canoeing and backpacking one of the most remote and pristine areas in the world. Residing in Ontario once again, he enjoys canoe tripping, trail running and practicing primitive living and bushcraft skills.
